It is about eight-meter-high bamboo poles, festooned with bamboo decorations, which arch over roadways or pathways during Galungan or other important occasions. Whenever you see this fertility symbol, it means there’s some sort of celebration or ceremony about to happen or being held nearby.
The arched top represents Gunung Agung, the body is a river that flows from the mountains to the sea, and along its route are the products of the harvest, tied to the pole; at the foot of the pole is a temporary shrine.
