Indonesian Art Institute (ISI) Denpasar which is located at Jalan Nusa Indah Denpasar is not just a place to study the traditional or contemporary Balinese art. It also houses a complete collection of Balinese gamelan sets, from ancient to newly invented set of gamelan, and from classical to contemporary style of gamelan set.

This complete collection of Balinese gamelan sets is kept on Lata Mahosadhi building inside ISI campus area. This building houses various kind of Balinese gamelan set from all over the island of Bali and there are some set of Javanese and Sumatran gamelan. Lata Mahosadhi also houses the ancient pieces of Gamelan set which can be dated back to 11th century and many other rare set of Gamelan.

Unfortunately, not all of these sets of gamelan are in good condition and preserved in a proper way, befitting the value of these precious and rare gamelan sets.

Besides gamelan sets, Lata Mahosadhi also houses other Balinese work of art, such as masks, paintings, Barong, and other traditional or contemporary work of arts
