Ramayana Painting Exhibitions
Mrs, Rozalia Hummel was born in Budapest, Hungary but often seen as an Indian artist.
She started to paint in 1979 in south France. In 1981 she went to Udaipur, Indian and lived for 10 years as a disciple (shisheya) and devotee in the Nathadware Temple, the royal shrine of thw Udaipur royalty. Here she practiced all the disciplines of spirituality the traditional of the sacred art of the Nathadwara style.
She also visited Thailand, Singapore and Bali to learn the asian art and thinking. Rozalia Hummel’s style or painting is deeply inspired by Indian miniatures and Nathadware traditions as we as by Hungarian folk traditions.
The Ramayana series composed or 7 paintings as per the 7 chapters or Ram Charitmanas or Tulsi Das, and they had been used for book illustration in India. These paintings are purely in Indian miniature style from Udaipur, as she studied and practiced the traditional art of Indi. (7 paintings of 40 by 60 cm, on paper).
The paintings or Kattikas, she prepared in Bali, Ubud, between 1998 and 1999, and they cities in Hungary and Europe. (5 paintings on can canvas of 1 by 2 meter, standing).
Mrs. Rozalia Hummel’s recent activity is on Vedic Art, she had been holding workshops on geometrical designs or Yantras, as supports for meditation, protection and Yoga-prayanama, the last six month in Rishikes, Himalayas. (24 pieces of A4 on the step by step to learn and create your own Yantra).
She is an internationally renowned artist whose work resides in the permanent collections
or the Udaipur Bagore ki Haveli Museum, the Indira Gandhi National Centre of the Arts, The Hoyal Kankroli Family and Chitrakut, Tulsipith.
She had exhibitions in India, Singapore, Thailand, France, Italy and Hungary. Published several books as an author illustrator in English and Hungarian.
