Denpasar Overview
Situated in South Bali, around 13 km away from the airport, Denpasar is the largest city and capital of Bali. Denpasar is rapidly expanding multicultural city that can be seen as rather daunting but after you take few step further inside the city life you will find many interesting temples, palaces and museums and its occupants are outstandingly friendly.
There are many sights that you can visit on foot but there is a chance you will be off the beaten tourist track here, so bring lots of time for a chat with the locals and a decent map of town. Denpasar government have initiated tourist program to promote the town entitled “Sightseeing Denpasar”. This program mainly comprises of various festivals and events that are hold every month at tourist destinations around the town.
