Have You been ‘thinking’ of your hometown food lately?
Ever missed your ‘hometown’ cook?
This is an easy-solving thing; Go to Batam!!

Why? Well, in Batam, you can find lots of restaurants as well as food-stalls around which sells a very wide varieties of food and cook from different places, taste and appetites. From amazingly wide kind of ‘soto’, Padang food, Malang Meatball, Taliwang Chicken, and much more can be found in Batam.

The Food industry is really in a great growth lately. Besides looking forward to grab some new customers, these business owners are trying to make their place to be a great place to cure your hometown-missing sickness. Unbelievably, many company executives lately left their job just to try their luck on this business, opening a new restaurants or even just a food-stall selling some regional cook.

This passionate situation in the regional-food industry can be claimed as an era of Indonesian food awakenings; which have lost its luster lately to other countries’ food. These kind of differentiating regional-foods are now available in Batam. From fowl food; you can find like: Ayam Bakar Wong Solo, Resto Kediri, or even Bebek Bali. Talking about Padang Cook, then Aceh food; Selera Kita, to Makassar food can all be found at various places all over Batam Island. You can find so many food courts around the island like A1, Goldenland, SP Plaza Food Court, and so much more offering different varieties of cook from wide regions; all gathered into one place.

This enthusiasm to feature wide regions of food can be seen from the growth of different kind of food stalls selling those regional cook they are specializing in. This is a real awakening of “Indonesian Food-chipelago” in its own territory. Food is the country’s most valuable asset which is not prestige-known yet till today.
And actually the case is, our foods are really comparable to foods from other countries. Nevertheless much people are not yet valuing their own country’s produce.

This is where Batam Food Festival 2008 being held. As a part of ‘Visit Batam 2010’ programmed to be held in Lapangan Engku Putri Batam Centre, Batam Island. Happening for 3 days from October 31 to November 2, 2008.
