5000 man Kecak at Tanah Lot
There is going to be a 5000 man Kecak at Tanah Lot on September 29th. It is being performed and produced by folks in Tabanan. They are going to spend close to US $100,000 on this as part of BALI RECOVERY. I won’t comment on that, but if you’re on the island, it should be quite a spectacle! Not sure of the time, but I assume it’s dusk onwards….
CAKolosal is an idea which has three particular of urgently aspects. They are spiritual aspect, cultural aspect and economic aspect where each of their implementations expectedly would become a starting point of the spirit of initiative and togetherness. In a wide range, such condition is encouraging the main program of regional development that based on local society. Such effort either might be assumed as a utilization of local genius where it can support the sustainability of regional development in accordance with its root, culture.
The Kecak dance, as one of daily Balinese’s art activity, presents Bali and particularly Tabanan. Furthermore, it represents then reflects a dynamically of spiritual senses that could transform due inspiration and peace. For instance, its move and sound are simply part therefore both demonstrates the dancers coincidentally that presents a philosophy of brotherhood.
CAKolosal is the effort of Tabanan government in accordance with their program that is called Destination Management. It is believed that such effort could develop Tabanan regency in whole aspects. Besides, it also encourages Bali’s development purpose: to be the best destination. Moreover, such program either is an expectation of the starting point regarding implementation of well Destination Management. Then finally it absolutely could revitalize several urgently sectors that directly correlate with Tabanan’s natural resources.

Thank you for the information. I know it would be a fabulous spectacle, but since we don’t arrive on the island until 14:45 and will then be taken to our hotel in Ubud, would it even be possible for us to get back down by dusk to see it? and if so, how?

Thank you. We’ll be in Bali by then, somewhere on the north coast. But this seems like something so special we should make special arrangements to attend. We’ll inquire today when we get to Bali this afternoon.
