Davenport wins in Bali
Third seed Lindsay Davenport has made a winning start to the Wismilak International in Bali, joining Australian world No.180 Casey Dellacqua on the winners’ list. Davenport had a straight sets victory over Russian Galina Voskoboeva 7-5 6-1. The American is looking like a tournament favourite again this year, she has previously had good form in Bali winning last year’s tournament without dropping a set. Dellacqua had an easy first-round victory over Indonesian Lavinia Tananta 6-0 6-2. The 21-year-old left-hander will take on sixth-seeded Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli in the second round, after she disposed of Indonesian qualifier Ayu Fani Damayanti 6-1 6-0.
