You can find moneychangers in all tourism are all over Bali, but moneychangers in major tourism area will give you the best rate due to the intense competition, the one in far reaches tourism area such as Gilimanuk does not offer a good rate. Moneychangers generally do not charge a fee for their services, so you can change money as often as you want without it costing you. The moneychangers rates are vary, but they offer quicker service and usually give a better exchange rate than banks. They also do not open as early as banks but stay open much longer than banks. Bank seldom post exchange rates, but moneychangers always do.

The New Year eve in Denpasar was celebrated by fireworks party along Jl. Cok Agung Tresna in Renon (the area of government’s offices), Jl. By Pass Ngurah Rai, Jl. Diponegoro, Jl. Gajah Mada (Jl. = street) and in some houses in Denpasar. The sound and the beauty of the launched fireworks created a cheerful atmosphere and made the traffic became a joyful thing to feel. Even though there was no special place and time to shoot the fireworks but it was done by everyone from their house, school, office, street, and etc.
This year, the New Year celebration in Denpasar is simpler than last year. No music performance in open space except in Art Centre Bali, no many artists, alias special occasion for gathering people to celebrate the coming year. But the condition did not abolish the togetherness with family or friends. The fireworks party became another pleasure to celebrate the New Year eve.
The fireworks party indirectly became a medium to build the unity among people. When a group of people played with it alongside the street, some other people who were not belong to the group were getting closer to watch and clap their hands as they enjoyed the fireworks show. Then they were having a chat each other. Balinese, Javanese, American, Australian, Japanese, Indians, no matter where they come from, all were having great time. No hatred, no mistrust but cheer and joy.

It was reported on Bali Post, Sunday (16/12) that Abu Bakar Ba’asyir, the leader of Jamaah Islamiah (JI), visited the three sentenced of the 1st Bali Bomb Blast Case; Amrozy, Mukhlas, and Imam Samudra in Nusa Kambangan prison.

He stated that the verdict was mistaken due to the death sentence to those three persons. He considers that Amrozy and his friends are not terrorists but they are contra-terrorist.
Ba’asyir also stated that actually those people who are in jail was only trying to defend the Muslims but unfortunately they used wrong ways and for expiating their sin they are doing two months fast (kifarat) currently since there was innocent people killed on 1st Bali Bomb Blast incident. And his last statement that sounds like a threat was there will be a big disturbance/danger if those three sentenced are sent to death because they are mujahid (fighter).

BALI, Indonesia Dec 16, `07 A UN Climate Change Conference adopted a plan to negotiate a new global warming pact on Saturday, Dec 15, after the United States suddenly reversed its opposition to a call by developing nations for technological help to battle rising temperatures.
The adoption came after marathon negotiations overnight, which first settled a battle between Europe and the U.S. over whether the document should mention specific goals for rich countries obligations to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
The agreement launches a two-year negotiating process - the Bali roadmap - aiming to secure a binding deal at the 2009 UN summit in Denmark.
European and U.S. envoys dueled into the final hours of the two-week meeting over the EUs proposal that the Bali mandate suggest an ambitious goal for cutting the emissions of industrial nations_ by 25 to 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2020.
