After the passing away of several Maestro of Balinese dancers, world community was shocked again by the report that Ni Ketut Cenik, a Maestro of Joged Pingit, passed away on July 24^th. Now, Balinese and world community may worry about the existence of good Balinese dancers who can perform as best as those maestros.

However, Ni Ketut Cenik seems had prepared all things; I Made Jimat, the only son of two brothers, inherited her spectacular ability in dancing and incorporating the emotion and movements in performing Classical Balinese dance. Moreover, Jimat is considered multi-talented that he is also renowned as the accomplished musician.

Jimat was born in 1948, in Batuan where a lot of dancers and artisan creating paintings and other brilliant artifact live in it. For sure, his knowledge and ability in dancing and playing gamelan was acquired from the daily performance he watched in his surroundings. Naturally, his brilliant mother also gave a big influence to him to explore his talent that in these days he prefers to be a distinguished Balinese dancer whose performance is brilliant appreciated by the local artists and foreigners.

As his mother quoted that nowadays there is only a few good dancers in Bali though dance school or institutes are flourished, Made Jimat maybe one of those few good Balinese dance who will do the same effort to preserve the beauty of dancing Balinese dance and forward it to the young generation as his mother did in her lifetime.
