Boomerang from Waterbom Bali

Wednesday, February 15th, 2006 by ablteam

BoomerangAnother thrilling waterslide from Waterbom Bali that will sends you down fast, climb 60 degrees up and throws you backward at the end.

This newest slide has the characteristic of a massive half pipe, where two riders shoot down inside Aquatube (closed and open flume) which then creates enough speed to send the riders up a 10 meter vertical wall/ramp at a 60 degree angle and come down backwards very fast.

The practice will be completed as the riders slowed down at braking area and reach the pool. The 15-24 second excitement will leave the riders breathless.

Bali’s mountain lakes region

Tuesday, February 14th, 2006 by Don Bennett

Up the mountain, out of Ubud towards Bedugul, we climbed into the cool misty valleys of the lakes region ( about 1.5 hours driving time). The climate here allows the growing of strawberries and cut flowers year round ! Lots of spices are grown here, as well as vegetables ( we bartered at a local market). The verdant valley holds a championship golf course as well.

When we topped a ridge to get a better view, I thought I was looking at a valley in Switzerland (breathtaking). We did not stay, as we were on the way to Lovina and Pemuteran.

I have since looked at several hotel/spa/resort descriptions on the mountain, and near each of the three lakes ( Beratan, Buyan, and Tamblingan), and found them enticing. Pura Gubug Tamblingan and Pura Ulun Danu are two interesting temples nearby.

I would stay there a few nights, during our next trip, just to breathe the cool air and eat strawberries.
