Rinjani Trekking Tour

Foreign travelers can reach Lombok by air on a direct flight from Singapore to Lombok International Airport (SIN - AMI) with Silk Air flights. This air transport serves three time flights in a week from Singapore and return to Singapore on the same day of Monday, Thursday (SIN - AMI: 15.10 - 17.55. AMI - SIN: 18.40 - 21.15), and Saturday (SIN - AMI: 07.55 - 10.40. AMI - SIN: 11.20 - 13.55). For an extension they can fly to Bali first and take a domestic flight from Bali to Lombok and join our Rinjani Volcano Trekking Tour Package.

Summit Trek:
For those still with out most physical conditions and spirit to challenge the summit trek obstacles, here is your optional activity started from your camp on Segara Anak Lake: (12.00 am) Begin the walk along the trails heading east and climb up to Pelawangan Sembalun Campground (03.00 am). We will wind right from this campground and ascend up, then follow the narrow path of volcanic sand and gravels that leads to the volcano’s peak. Depending on your walking manner, but normally we will reach the top by 06.30 - 07.00 am. Please stick around your trekking guide and porters in this summit trek. (07.30 am) You must leave the peak soon after your half an hour break. The down walk can be easier but please watch your steps for a save return to the lake campground. You may take your time and be on the lake side on the time for lunch (00.00 pm).

Kuningan Day

Balinese Hindu’s will celebrate yet another religious day known as Kuningan on Saturday August 30, 2008. This ceremonial occasion falls exactly 10 days after the Galungan rituals and is a time to commemorate ancestral spirits as they return to heaven after dwelling on earth for an extended period.

Worshippers express their gratitude through prayer and offerings to the trinity of Gods for the ultimate gift of life. At Kuningan the arched bamboo poles referred to as as penjor, which are erected in front of each Balinese home compound during the religious festivities, are redecorated. White cloth is replaced with yellow cloth at the base of the ландшафтpenjor’s temporary shrine as an indication of prosperity. All ceremonial tokens of appreciation must be performed before 12 noon to farewell the spirits as they depart the physical world and disappear into the unseen.

The island of Bali has been called the Island of thousands temples but nowadays, Bali is not just teemed with temples but also with motorcycles. Motorcycles practically everywhere on this 5,500 square kilometer island. You can never out of sight and sound of this most popular means of transportation even though you are in the remotest place in the Bali. Moreover if you are in Denpasar, the capitol city of Bali, the streets are litteraly streams of motorcycles, the parking paces is packed with motorcycles, the curbs turn into lines of motorcycles, they are omnipresent in Bali.

As a means of transportation motorcycle in Bali is very useful and utilize by Balinese to its extreme limit. It is not unusual to see a family of four ride on a single motorcycle that is too small for two westerners, usually the father ride the motorcycles, mother sitting behind with a child and the second child sitting on the father lap, holding the handle bars. In Bali, motorcycle also replaced the function of truck; bags of cements, big bushel of grass, pigs, long bamboo pole, anything that westerner use a truck to carry can be carried on motorcycle in Bali.
