Bebek Bengil is located in Tegal village, the southern end of the village. This restaurant ha s relaxed garden setting with rustic charm of paddy fields with a footpath light that leads you into the paddies through the pond and waterways. But Bebek Bengil offers more than just an amazing view. Top local dishes, and international ones, are prepared in the spotlessly clean kitchen, and served with a pleasant smile, friendly but professional, and the price is reasonable.
The naming of Ubud’s Bebek Bengil has a quite amusing story. The restaurant was built 12 years ago, when the village of Tegal, was nothing more than rice paddi’s, the restaurant was almost finished when it was invaded by a flock of ducks, from the adjoining paddies. The mess they made on that early morning invasion gave birth to the name, Bebek Bengil [Dirty Duck].

Ryoshi Japanese Restaurant
Ryoshi, a small and pretty Japanese Restaurant with simple food, presented in the usual clean, clinical style of Japanese cooking is one of a chain of, arguably, the best Japanese restaurants in Bali.
As with the other Ryoshi restaurants in Sanur, Seminyak and Kuta, Ryoshi restaurant in Ubud also claims that sushi is the most popular dish along with sashimi, tempura, robata and soba-udon.
The Interior decor of this restaurant is simple and rather similar to the Japanese style. The atmosphere is very relaxing with an amazing view of the gorge.

The atmosphere is great with an open plan and tasteful design. The service and food are both very good. Obviously, the food is more catered towards tourist with strong fusion influence, but the results is very good indeed. We enjoyed the experience very much and will definately visit again. Here are a few pictures we took.

In Ubud, go to Nomads. Good food, good service, good price and if you go on the right day you will see Danny Devito(look a like).
For dinner try Lamak on Monkey Forest Rd. All the food is great, a bit more expensive, similar to oz prices. If you want a steak, this is the place to come. Unbelievable!
