Public transportations in Lombok Island especially in the rural areas are quite an exception for the foreign travelers who are used to safe and comfort public transportation to see or use.
Public transportations in Lombok rural areas may seem compromising safety and comfort for price and space. It is not unusual to see passengers and goods are jammed into a minibus without any consideration on the safety limit on how much passengers or goods can be carried by a minibus which is use as public transportation, in many case the public transportation drivers even utilize the roof of the minibus to carry passengers or goods.
For some visitors it looks dangerous but for some who want to get some excitement sitting on the roof of public transportation and enjoying the drive along the beautiful Lombok’s west coast may look quite interesting.
