For those who are looking for a spiritual site which also offers stunning natural beauty Bromo-Tenger Nasional Park, Widodaren cave is an excellent choice. To reach this cave you can rent a jeep or horse from at Cemoro lawang that will take you to the foot of Mount Widodaren. From this spot, Widodaren cave can only be reached on by negotiating a steep path on foot for around an hour. The path to the cave is narrow and flanked by deep gorges, near the cave the dusty path turn into slippery and muddy path so be careful. But when you reach the mouth of the cave you can observe a stunning bird-eye view of the “sea of sand” that worth every single ordeal you take to reach this cave.

Widodaren cave is a sacred area for Hindu followers of Tengger. There is a spring inside the cave that serves as a source of holy water for religious ceremonies of Tengger’s Hindus. The water of this sacred spring is also believed to contain a spiritual power that makes you look young and make your search for soul mate easier. The supplicants of this holy water usually bring offerings of food or chicken as a token of their gratitude to the owner of this sacred spring, God Almighty. Three priests work hand in hand to manage the religious activities in this sacred cave and act as a medium to connect the supplicants with owner of the cave. This cave is also used as a place for meditation.
