Green Spirit Bali of Sudaji: A Sanctuary For Peaceful Soul

by on Thursday, 2 December 2010No Comment | 1,718 views

Bali exudes massive spirit that can’t be described through words. And even more when you visit a village in Buleleng regency named Sudaji. This is what Ketut Susanna Zanzan realized very well that he built spirit sanctuary preserving the local value and environment. A sanctuary for contemplation and peace at heart. A Sanctuary named Green Spirit Bali.

Along the road to get this sanctuary, you will be easy to see the greenery on right and left side of the small road. Sudaji is renowned for its fertile soil that any plant can grow well there; or it seems stone will probably grows to be a lush tree. And the pleasant weather makes the trip going so enjoyable. After passing Banjar Dukuh’s hall, you will see the Green Spirit Bali, tucked away on the right side.

No nameplate and the bamboo gate is unclear seen from the distance. But just step inside and you will feel you are in another heaven. This 15-acre sanctuary is filled with tropical lush trees, three medium-in-size gazebos, one big hall, and four bedrooms. It is amazingly beautiful that all of buildings here were built using bamboos. The concept indeed is back to nature and no harm for the environment.

Zanzan together with Sudaji community are successfully created tourism based on ecology in their own village. Zanzan then compiled a spiritual program for the tourists who seek the peacefulness. The tourists will start the activities before having breakfast. A meditation guided directly by Zanzan will be done in the big bamboo hall to make them feel peaceful. After that, the tourists’ tongue will be pampered by Balinese traditional snacks. Finish? Not yet. They will be brought to the fascinating waterfall, located in neighboring village named Sekumpul Village.

The twin waterfalls at Sekumpul Waterfall present the strong spiritual ambiance. It needs their patience to get over there by getting down trough 352 stairs. It is not an easy track but it is worth because the enchanting lovely waterfall with fresh water waits there. Here, Zanzan again will show and guide them to reach the peacefulness.

Considering its beautiful nature and pleasant weather, no wonder that there are so many of them finally get what they are looking for. Green Spirit Bali enables to accommodate countless number of tourists to meditate but not for stay because it boasts only 4 bedrooms. However, Sudaji community will welcome your group warm and will allow you to stay at their little huts.
