Makepung Lampit
Makepung Lampit began in activities ‘ngelampit’, ie dig out rice field in wet conditions after hoeing with buffalo (nenggala).
In order to banish boredom some people try a small race with buffalo, from time to time then this race known as Makepung.
In general, Makepung Lampit is not much different with the one use dry track. They differ only in the more limited trajectory and wet, and do not use the wagon train for the jockey.
This tradition may look similar to a hoe Jawi in Sumatra, but is actually pure tradition Jembrana, Bali. According to a resident, Mr. Wayan Sampun, 60 years old, the last time this tradition was held in 1990. But starting late last year started again and rose along with the emergence of extracting the old traditions for the purpose of tourism and media photography / video.
