A Cultural Festival to Celebrate Mangupura’s First Anniversary
Previously, the capital city of Badung was an area in Denpasar. Thus, in 2008 the government of Badung proposed the relocation of the Badung’s capital and that proposal was approved by the Indonesian government. As the consequence, November, 16th 2009 could be the historic day for Badung citizen since that moment is the moment in which Badung’s capital is officially moved to Mangupura.

This year, on November, Mangupura will celebrate its first anniversary, thus the Regent of Badung, A.A Gde Agung plans to hold a cultural festival on that month. However, this plan is still being discussed in the Badung parliament including the budget, the sequence of events, and others.
A.A Gde Agung seems so eager to hold this festival. According to him, this festival is aimed to preserve Balinese culture especially Badung culture. If this plan is going smoothly, then people who have plan to go to Bali on November should add the destination list to see the cultural festival within the framework of the first anniversary of Mangupura, the Badung’s new capital.
