Old Soldiers Never Die…
Old Soldiers are never die…they do not fade away, either. It turned out on Wednesday that the old soldiers keep on fighting!
Legiun Veteran Republik Indonesia (LVRI) Bali, the organization of the heroes of the War of Independence, stole the show during the public hearing with its concise, straightforward and touching statement.
An old soldier, Ida Bagus Kompyang read the two-point statement,
“We reject the Anti Pornography Bill and We are ready to accept any consequences of this rejection.”
Militarily brief and precise, a man of action not of words.
We salute this soldiers, who keep on fighting to ensure that we could celebrate the Independence that they had secured for us some 60 years ago.
We bow our heads to these great men of honor and bravery, who, until now, stay true to their promise to be the guardian of this majestic Republic of cultural diversity.
