Yesterday, a friend of mine complained that the temperature in the morning is lower than other month and it makes him quite reluctant to take his morning bath. So I give my best shot to explain the phenomenon of low temperature in the morning. And here is the best answer I can think of:

The low temperature in the morning is a sign that Sasih Karo (the second month in traditional Caka calendar usually falls around the end of July or early in August) is on its sway. Sasih Karo is the coldest month compare to the other month. The temperature is in the lowest level especially in the morning. It is quite warm during but the day during the night, a thick blanket is needed.

Gunung Agung last erupted in 1963-64 and is still active, with a large and very deep crater which occasionally belches smoke and ash. From a distance, the mountain appears to be perfectly conical, despite the existence of the large crater.

From the peak of the mountain, it is possible to see the peak of Mount Rinjani on the island of Lombok, although both mountains are frequently covered in cloud.

The lava flows missed, sometimes by mere yards, the Mother Temple of Besakih. The saving of the temple is regarded by the Balinese people as miraculous and a signal from the gods that they wished to demonstrate their power but not destroy the monument the Balinese faithful had erected. However, over 1,000 people were killed and a number of villages were destroyed in this eruption.

The best way to explain the climate and weather in Bali in a year period is based on traditional Caka Calendar. Each month (sasih) in this calendar has its own climate and weather characteristic. Balinese have used these climate and weather characteristics to determine the best time for cultivating the land or to perform a religious ceremony.

A year in the traditional Caka calendar consist of twelve months. Here are the months arranged in succession as follows Kasa, Karo, Katiga, Kapat, Kalima, Kenem, Kapitu, Kaulu, Kasanga, Kadasa, Jiyestha and Asada. The prefix of ka- in the first tenth months above refers to ordinal numbers. The first month (kasa) of the traditional Caka calendar corresponds to July. But they are not exactly the same since the traditional Caka calendar is a lunar calendar while the Gregorian is a solar one.
