Balinese and Tourist, Both Got Confuse to Choose

Lately, Bali became a place where several international events were held. Two famous tourism areas, Kuta and Ubud were hosts of those events. Both of committee of Asian Beach Game (ABG) and Kuta Carnival held their event in the same place; around of Kuta beach while the committee of Ubud Writer preferred Ubud to be the host.

This was good since there were several events which could attract many tourists to come to Bali. Moreover,Balinese are also very pleased with these events. Yet, because of the time was very close even more overlap one with another then the spectators; tourist and Balinese got confuse in deciding where they are going to go to.

“Now you feel queen” Rubbing and scrubbing on Bali

As a holiday paradise Bali is known for its beach life, Hindu culture and rice fields. Now spa is on the rise. As yet there are hundreds, some homely, others downright luxurious. A true haven for the stressed traveller. Be rubbed, pampered and submerge in a flower bath.

Red flowers float in a bowl, motionless. I watch them for a long time. There is the sweet sound of gamelan music, the plaintive tones stretching and repeating endlessly. Warm hands gently glide over my shoulders, back, hips. Her name is Alita. She rubs my muscles, pulls at my fingers, kneads the soles of my feet, slaps my heels, and loosens my joints. Slowly I relax and stare at the flowers.

Tourism surely attracts people to work in that field. They vie for many kinds of jobs from a luxurious provider services to the modest class services. But the last are often despised by others.

As what happen in Kuta beach where temporary tattoo makers, nail-painter, drink sellers, and others earn money. They are often jeered that they turn a beautiful beach into hideous place. Even more, they annoy the tourist since most of them offer their goods or service with a die-hard persistence. But actually they try to make tourists comfort in their own way. How?

Kuta Sidewalk Festival 2008

Independence Day of a country is always celebrated in different ways. In Indonesia, people celebrate the Independence Day which fall on 17th of August by holding various events to entertain people. Climbing slippery pole to get prize at the top is a favorite event in almost all regions in Indonesia.

However, Rama group did not hold a climbing slippery pole in celebrating the Indonesian Independence Day. This company which has several hotels and also restaurant held a festival named Kuta Sidewalk Festival 2008 from 16th up to 18th August. In accordance with its name, this festival was held in the sidewalk of Kartika Street, Kuta.
