Once upon a time, there was a priest who passed a dry river. He found a thin crab in the one side of the river. Because of the condition of the crab, the priest felt pity and took it. He put the poor crab into other river near his house. By the time, the poor crab grew healthier and healthier.

One night, when the priest was sleeping inside his house, came a snake and a large-billed crow. They aimed to kill the priest. But, fortunately, the crab which is saved by the priest heard their plan. The crab pretended to be their friends and assured them that it had the same aim, killing the priest.

“What are you doing here? Did you hear what we talk about just a moment?” asked the snake to the crab with its angry face.

“Yes Of course, you speak enough loudly to be heard. But don’t worry, I’m on your side. I also want to kill the priest. I think we can make a friend,” said the crab to the snake.

Good Heaven, the crab can assured both the snake and the large-billed crow. They decided to arrange the plan that night in that place. When both the snake and the large-billed crow were busy talking about the plan, the crab took the advantage of it. It strangled the neck of the snake and the large-billed crow until they died.

The priest was woken up by the scream of the snake and the large-billed crow. He found that the crab had killed them and saved him from the death. “Oh, how kind you are. I cannot do anything to repay your kindness than saying thank you so much,” said the priest.

“Don’t be like that, Sir. I did what you have done to me. You have save me from the death too,” replied the crab

Finally, the priest and the crab lived happily. They helped each other and made a friend. What the crab have done shows that an animal also had a feeling to repay a kindness of someone to it.
