by on Friday, 8 August 20086 Comments | 5,577 views

The word “Kuta” is not just a name for a beautiful beach in Bali, but also the name for equally beautiful beach in Lombok Island in West Nusa Tenggara province. Kuta beach of Lombok is situated on the south coast of Lombok island. It has 5 km of an unbroken expanse of clean white sand and turquoise sea with rugged hills as background, though this beach open directly to Indian Ocean but it is safe for bathing and swimming here. Further to the west there are surfer’s and windsurfer’s beaches.

This beautiful beach is also known as Putrid Nyale Beach since on During the period between February and March, this beautiful beach will be filled by thousands of visitors who participate in Nyale Fishing Festival; they usually sleep on the beach, waiting for the festival to begin and Nyale worms to come.

The Kuta beach of Lombok is equipped with sufficient tourist facilities but far fewer than the Kuta beach of Bali. Kuta of Lombok is a pristine unspoiled beach, a perfect place for hide away and sunbathing.

Iya, the official name of the beach is Pantai Segar (or Segar Beach). Also known to tourists as Putri Nyale (meaning Princess Nyale). It most definitely is not known as Putrid Nyale (meaning rotten, stinking sea worms)!
